OVERCOME FEARS AND PHOBIAS
One of the most common reasons people visit a hypnotist is to overcome fears or phobias. If you suffer from a phobia for example the fear of flying, high places, rejection, public speaking, poor performance (sports, scholastic, job, theatrical, sexual), death, the unknown, contamination, blood, animals (spiders, or other insects), water, impending danger, darkness, open spaces, closed spaces and loss of control,the fear is real and can have a terrible effect on a person's life.
Whenever a fear or phobia gets in someone's way, interferes with their life-style, or causes them to avoid something they would like to do, it should be treated. Hypnosis is an accepted and powerful tool on its own, or as an adjunct to help you live your life free of fear.
Most fears develop during childhood, but fears can develop during adulthood. Some fears that develop in adulthood are caused by chemicals imbalance such as a hypoglycemic reaction; but many are the results of repressed memories. One indication of whether a fear is physical or psychological is the duration of the reaction. But many are the results of repressed memories. |

If a person experiences a fear strongly and/or frequently, they may begin to fear losing control. They can became afraid to feel the fear; and go out of their way to avoid anything that might trigger it. When this happens, the fear has became a phobia. |

Hypnosis is a state of relaxation and heightened awareness in which the individual utilizes the process of imagination to focus his/her attention on changing or improving something about him/herself. Hypnotherapy can help with phobias quickly and efficiently. And it can be done in just a few sessions. |
• Desensitizing the client to the stimulus; e.g., spiders, the flying experience or whatever it may be.
•Learning a new, more relaxed response and learn how utilize new resources to become much more calm in situations where you are likely to encounter the stimulus.
•Uncovering the source of the Fear although this may you may not be necessary.
•Teaching you how to take control so you can be free of your fears and start on the path of to be whom you know you can be.
Is Fear Ever Useful?
Yes! Fear is not always a bad thing. Fears are a natural part of life. Everyone fears something such as being robbed, or being hurt in an accident. This type of fear is not necessarily bad- as it may prompt you to take precautions, such as locking doors or wearing safety belts.
NLP techniques are also particularly useful with phobias and fears.
1. NLP – Neuro Linguistic Programming is a detailed operational model of the processes involved in human behavior and communication. Although it is not a psychotherapy, NLP’s principles can be used to understand and make changes in any realm of human experience and activity. NLP has been applied to many concerns of human experiences, and the results are a powerful, rapid, and subtle modality for making extensive and lasting changes in human behavior and capacities. NLP deals with modifying and redesigning thinking patterns, promoting flexibility, and forging new capacities and abilities.
2. Time Past Exploration - This is a process of imagination in which the individual imagines him/herself letting go of negative emotions and limiting beliefs associated with past and/or future events.
The technique has been found extremely effective in relieving a wide variety of problems, enabling an individual to enjoy a better quality of life and move more rapidly towards their goals.
